About Us
In my search for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm-share in Rhode Island, I encountered a challenge: despite extensive online searches, a user-friendly, comprehensive list of local organic farms was elusive. Motivated to address this gap, I built LocalOrganicRI.com.
Local Organic RI is an initiative of the LS 22, based in Lincoln, RI 02865. LS 22 responds to the call for innovation that cares for our common home, promotes a circular economy inspired by nature, and fosters the integration of people into healthy communities.
Our goal is to help simplify your search for local organic products and connect you with Rhode Island's organic producers. We hope this website serves as a valuable resource in your pursuit of fresh, locally sourced, organic foods.
Disclaimer:
The listings on this website are based on publicly available data from various sources, including the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) Organic Program, and direct communications with farms. Please note that as of November 1, 2023 RIDEM is no longer a USDA National Organic Program (NOP)-accredited certifying agent and does not verify or update the certification status of farms. Therefore, the information provided may not reflect the most current certification status or operational changes of the farms listed. For more information on RIDEM's current role and available assistance, please visit the RIDEM Organic Program page.
Local Organic RI is an independent entity and is not affiliated with, nor officially sponsored or endorsed by, RIDEM or any government agency. We are not a certifying body, organic farm, or producer. This website serves solely as an informational resource that aggregates publicly available data and direct communications for convenience. We make no claims regarding the official certification status or practices of any farm listed.
Organic certification and farming practices are regulated by the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) and accredited certifying agents. The accuracy of organic claims is the responsibility of the farms and their certifying authorities. Users are strongly encouraged to independently verify all organic claims directly with the farms or certification bodies.
If you notice any inaccuracies or outdated information on this website, please inform us by emailing michael@localorganicri.com. We will strive to make corrections as promptly as possible.
